Hot Rolling for Aluminum Sheet
The purpose of hot rolling in aluminum sheet production is to provide ingot for cold rolling or to produce thick aluminum plate of hot rolling state. There are three types of methods for hot rolling if classified by production scale: single-stand, double-stand and half continuous hot rollings.
With single-stand hot rolling all relative processes, from cogging to hot rolling, are finished in one stand. Efficiency can be improved by application of large ingot and reverse mill. Four high driven mill helps to enlarge width and improve shape of aluminum sheets. The disadvantage of single-stand hot rolling is dissatisfying quality and efficiency because of quick fall of sheet temperature, large sheet thickness and relatively light sheet weight. Double-stand hot rolling consists of a reverse mill and a four high reverse driven mill. The first mill deals with cogging and rough rolling, then the plates are transferred to the second mill for precise rolling. In this way, rough rolling and precise rolling are treated separately, which eventually enhances quality as well as efficiency. The thickness of finished aluminum sheets can be reduced to 2mm. Half continuous hot rolling is usually composed of one or two reverse mills for cogging and rough rolling, and three to six continuous four high mills for precise rolling. The ingot goes through each mill for only one time. Compared with the two methods above, half continuous hot rolling has advantages of large production scale, short gap time, high sheet temperature and excellent sheet quality.
Huawei, professional aluminum manufacturer and supplier with decades of experience, provides aluminum sheet of various specifications. It has advanced half-continuous hot rolling mills as well as latest cold rolling equipment.
